Summary
The famous (sometimes infamous) Geylang district has the highest concentration of religious organisations in Singapore and is the unofficial red-light area of Singapore. Flanked by 2 rivers, it was originally a Malay community but it now play host to new migrant communities.
At the wee hours of the morning while the rest of Singapore sleeps, this is the only place that still has traffic jams. The word Geylang may mean factory or farm or even the name of a Malay tribe but to Singaporeans, it means great food all times of the day and night.

Accessibility & Fitness
Minimum medium fitness level recommended due to brisk walking pace. Total walking distance is about 2km on flat grounds (with lots of breaks in between) but there may be some staircases during journey.

"If you want to see the Real Singapore beyond the glitzy shopping malls, this tour is for you. You eat and walk your way through the Geylang district while learning a great deal about the history and life in this district today. One of the legal areas for prostitution is in this district as well as the many temples in the area. Hence the name "Sins and Salvation". A thoroughly interesting evening and Tony goes above and beyond what we normally get in a tour. I would take any tour this company offers!"
